Under this name, on November 20, an International Conference was held in the House of Public Organizations of Moscow dedicated to implementation of the so named project of St. Petersburg charity fund named after Pogosyan Grachya Misakovich.

It should be noted that the Foundation uses the concept of “Information Board” in order to avoid getting numerous approvals and obtaining lots of permits for installation of a memorial or memorable plates. But in fact, the information board will perform the same function as a memorable or a memorial plate.
The Foundation is also considering the possibility of installing such boards not only in St. Petersburg, but also throughout Russia, and if the project is relevant, then in the neighboring countries that were part of the USSR. In this case, the boards can be installed with the names of Heroes of the Soviet Union, Full Cavaliers of the Order of Glory.
Over the past months of promoting this initiative, the charitable foundation received a lot of feedback and support from the leadership of St. Petersburg, the City Education Committee, veteran public organizations, and residents of besieged Leningrad. The project was also supported by the interregional public organization of war and military service veterans – fellow soldiers, the Council of the St. Petersburg public organization of veterans (pensioners, disabled people) of war, veterans of labor, of the Armed forces and law enforcement agencies, veterans of the Victory Commanders Memorial Fund (Moscow), the All-Russian public organization of combat veterans “Combat Brotherhood” (Boyevoye Bratstvo), Interregional public organization “Brotherhood of green berets” (Bratstvo Zelenykh Beretov), Information Agency “Veteran News” and others.

The main objective of the project, which the fund pursues, is to save the memory for the younger generation about the heroes of the Great Patriotic War who studied in their schools, thereby awakening a patriotism, pride in their school, their city and country as a whole. All abovementioned can be achieved by involving in the research work not only the leaders of school museums and history teachers, but also the pupils themselves.

In order to find out the relevance of the project within Russia and countries of the near abroad, it was decided to organize and hold an international conference where there were invited leaders of fractions and heads of relevant committees of the State Duma of the Russian Federation as well as those of the Ministry of Defense of Russian Federation, veteran and public organizations of Moscow and the CIS, representatives of educational institutions. Colonel General, Professor, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces - Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Abkhazia (within the period from 2003 to 2010) Anatoly Zaitsev, Chairman of the Board of St. Petersburg Association for International Cooperation Margarita Mudrak, Chairman of the Board of St. Petersburg public organization “Residents of the besieged Leningrad” Elena Tikhomirova, Hero of the Russian Federation Valery Chukhvantsev came specially from St. Petersburg. Children and grandchildren of the Victory Leaders, including the granddaughters of a Hero of the Soviet Union, Major General Ivan Vasilievich Panfilov from Kazakhstan and a Hero of the Soviet Union, Chief Marshal of the Armored Forces Amazasp Khachaturovich Babajanyan, also took part in the conference.
The event was held in the House of Public Organizations with an active support of the “Veteran News” Information Agency.
In connection with holding of a parliamentary week these days, deputies and leaders of fractions of the State Duma could not take part in the conference. But Yaroslav Nilov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, showed his attention and supported the project: “... A new project – “Heroes of our school: dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory”, initiated by your charity fund - is aimed at preserving the memory of the heroes of that war, on a patriotic education of a young generation, which is one of the priority areas for our state development. We believe that this project will be able to take its rightful place in a series of events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War...” – was stated in his address.
The presidium of the event included such persons as: Hero of Russia, Chairman of the Presidium of the Pan-Russian Organization “Russian Officers”, Major General Sergey Lipovoy; Hero of Russia Alexander Golovashkin; founder of the “Veterans News” news Agency Vyacheslav Kalinin and philanthropist, President of the Foundation Grachya Pogosyan.
Alexander Ilyin, adviser to the General Director of channel 1 and Head of “Pobeda” TV channel, was among the guests of honor. In his speech, he expressed not only his gratitude to the Foundation for the current project on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the Victory Day and promised to provide maximum support on his part, but also suggested creating an organizing a Committee that would supervise and promote the initiative in Russia and abroad.
      – We should think about young people who do not know their heroes and their history. We are very impressed with such unconventional approaches offered by the organizers. It is an opportunity to recall the history of the war in various ways. The main thing is to make children think about what these information boards are about and why they are placed in their school, – Alexander Ilyin emphasized. He also presented the philanthropist with the gratitude of the General Director of channel 1 for assistance in preparing the XVII charity event “Be the first”.

Hero of Russia Sergey Lipovoy also focused on the information war that spread out today in the media as well as on the Internet, the purpose of which is to distort the history of a contribution of the Soviet people to the victory not only in the Great Patriotic War but the Second World War as a whole.

     – I believe that such an initiative should be implemented so that we do not miss our youth, so that young people know who they owe their lives to and that Russia has now risen from its knees and is one of the most powerful States in the world… We always honor all those who have military orders and medals. And if the names of the heroes of our time will be also placed on these boards, it will be a link between times and generations. I hope that this initiative will not be short-term, but will go on year by year, – Sergey Lipovoy expressed his hope. On behalf of all-Russian organization “Officers of Russia” he handed the philanthropist an honorary diploma for his great personal contribution to perpetuating of a memory of the Fatherland defenders as well as active charity and social activities.
Grachya Pogosyan spoke about the essence of the project and its tasks.
     – It is no secret that living witnesses of those events leave us every year – veterans, residents of the besieged Leningrad, children of the war. And if our generation grew up on the stories of our ancestors who past the war, our parents who grew up in the postwar period, then our children can find the truth about the Great Patriotic War only from the information, monuments, museums, memorial plates and boards, books and films that we will save for them. We can all see how the world is trying to rewrite history, distort the truth about the Second World War and the contribution of the Soviet people to Victory. And our project is another opportunity to save this truth, to retain the memory of heroes of the Great Patriotic War and worthy citizens of our country, which every child will be proud of. It is necessary that children know that the victory in the Great Patriotic War was a common victory for different peoples united under one banner. By installing information boards, we will give children the opportunity not only to find out the names of heroes who studied at their school, but also to encourage them to learn more about their biography, fate and feat, - explained Grachya Pogosyan. He also suggested discussing the situation with new schools opened after the Great Patriotic War. Benefactor proposed to place in such schools some Boards with background information, which will indicate the start and end dates of the Great Patriotic War, the name and number of the Union republics entered into the USSR, the number of people who has gone to the front, the number of dead and missing as well as a list of Holders of the “Victory” order - Soviet marshals, the number of Heroes of Soviet Union and Full Cavaliers of the Order of Glory.

This proposal was approved and the majority of votes suggested to add QR codes onto these information boards, which would allow students to get a detailed information about each hero of their school on a specially created web-site.
Alexey Govorov, Deputy Chairman of the Board Of the Foundation for descendants of victory generals, Ara Abrahamyan, President of the Union of Armenians of Russia, Elena Tikhomirova, the Chairman of the public organization "Residents of the besieged Leningrad" in Saint Petersburg, General Panfilov Foundation represented by his granddaughters and public figures Aigul and Alua Baykadamovyh, a daughter of a Hero of the Soviet Union, chief Marshal of armored troops Larisa Babajanyan, expressed their support for the project and assistance in its promotion.
Alikhan Merzhoev, Vice-President of the pan-Russian public organization for perpetuating the memory of “Outstanding commanders and naval commanders of the Fatherland”, noted that this project, organized by Pogosyan Foundation, was highly appreciated by the first Vice-President of the organization, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin.

      - Russian Ministry of defense has carefully studied the project and fully supports it. History must be verified, because yesterday's students come to us and become the image of the country's Armed forces. We consider this initiative remarkable and it should be developed. Interactive plasmas that tell about the Great Patriotic War and the contribution of each family to the Victory can be installed in new schools. We are ready to provide support both informational and practical - military collectives will participate in celebrations,  said Grigory Prystupnitsky, Advisor of the Department of Cultural and Leisure Activities of the Main Military and Political Directorate of the Russian Federation Armed Forces.
Andrey Lazurin, Chairman of the “Front Line” military history club (Estonia), conveyed words of appreciation and support for this initiative from Tallinn organization of World War II veterans and the anti-Hitler coalition. He noted the great contribution of the charity Foundation to save the memory of heroes of the great Patriotic war and World War I in Estonia and conveyed warm words of support from Metropolitan of Tallinn and all Estonia, Eugene.
At the end of the event, Grachya Pogosyan thanked all the participants for their positive assessment of the project, for their support and suggestions, which will be taken into account during its implementation. He also offered to support those schools in Russia and CIS countries that will have difficulties in installing such boards. In order to open such boards in schools of Central cities, the Foundation is ready to organize a permanent delegation, which can include descendants of Victory marshals, participants of the Great Patriotic war, residents of the besieged Leningrad, public and political figures.
