Medal “For Cooperation” from the Investigative Committee of Armenia
On September 7, Chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Republic of Armenia Hayk Grigoryan presented the medal “For Cooperation” to philanthropist Grachya Pogosyan for his contribution to strengthening the relations between the investigating authorities of Russia and Armenia.
The day before, on September 6, a working meeting was held in St. Petersburg, between Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin and Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia Hayk Grigoryan.
According to the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, during a meeting in Smolny, the heads of the two departments discussed the results of interagency cooperation and further plans to develop and strengthen cooperation between the Investigative committees of Armenia and Russia. In addition, a cooperation program was signed between the Investigative committee of Russia and the Investigative committee of the Republic of Armenia in the scientific and educational sphere for 2020-2022.
At the end of this meeting, the parties in an informal atmosphere discussed the issue of unveiling of the memorial to the Investigators of Russia, deciding to agree on a possible date.
It shall be noted that a monument to Russian Investigators was recently installed in the courtyard of the St. Petersburg Academy of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation by the efforts of Grachya Pogosyan charity fund.
The initiative to create the monument belongs to the veteran organization of the investigative authorities of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region together with the leadership of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative committee of the Russian Federation. The initiators born this idea for a long time, but become able to implement the project only after contacting the famous St. Petersburg philanthropist Grachya Pogosyan.
The monument construction began in June this year and was completed on the eve of Knowledge Day. The author of the monument was the sculptor, teacher of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts Vladimir Brodarsky.
Taking into account the contribution of Grachya Pogosyan to strengthening the relations between the investigating authorities of Russia and Armenia, his indifferent attitude to the common history of both countries, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia Hayk Grigoryan presented the St. Petersburg philanthropist with the medal “For Cooperation”.
